About Us

The attack surface moved.
Most security stacks
did not.

Created by practitioners who spent careers watching organisations get compromised through the environments their tools could not see. Home networks. Unmanaged devices. Shadow IT. Remote work infrastructure that grew faster than the policies governing it. That gap is not a product problem. It is a category problem. We set out to solve it.

How we got here

Built by practitioners, not theorists.

The founding team carries more than 70 years of combined agency and technology experience. The leadership group spans CEO, COO, CTO, and CPO, drawing from backgrounds in enterprise security, technology product development, and commercial scaling.

From the first day of operation, the priority was execution. Not frameworks. Not whitepapers. Working software that addresses the real security challenges organisations face when their workforce distributes across environments they do not own or fully control.

That discipline shapes everything we build.

Our approach

We approach the problem from a security standpoint, not a tooling checklist.

The industry has no shortage of point solutions. CAASM tools. Zero Trust vendors. Vulnerability scanners. Remote access platforms. Each addresses a slice of the problem. 4Remote was built around a different premise.

First

Visibility

Every asset that touches your environment, across managed and unmanaged networks, surfaces in a single inventory. No blind spots. No assumptions.

Second

Risk context

Raw discovery is not enough. Each asset is assessed against vulnerability data, exposure context, and known threat patterns to produce prioritised risk signals.

Third

Actionable remediation

Visibility without a path forward is noise. The platform guides teams toward safer outcomes without unnecessary complexity or analyst-hour overhead.

Platform covers Asset attack surface management + Zero Trust principles + Vulnerability visibility + Remote network security
The problem we're solving

The perimeter is not where it used to be.

Remote work did not expand the attack surface temporarily. It moved it permanently. The assets that now carry the most exposure are often the ones least represented in security tooling.

For organisations with distributed workforces, unmanaged and lightly managed devices are not edge cases. They are the primary surface.

Employee home and hybrid networks
Unmanaged and lightly managed devices
Shadow IT and unsanctioned SaaS usage
IoT assets and non-traditional endpoints
Temporary and dynamic environments outside standard discovery cycles
Breach reference point

The 2022 LastPass breach

The attack began with an unpatched home network device running Plex Media Server (CVE-2020-5741). The device was not corporate. It was not on a managed network. It was not visible to the security team.

$53M in resulting losses

The device was completely outside the perimeter their tools could see. That is the gap 4Remote was built to close.

How we build

Our team is distributed because our customers' risk is distributed.

4Remote's engineering team operates remotely across multiple geographies. That is not a logistics decision. It is a product decision. We build for the way organisations actually work, because we operate the same way.

Security-first architecture

Security, scalability, and automation are foundational to the platform, not features added after the fact.

Single codebase, any scale

The platform serves individual users, growing teams, and enterprise deployments without re-architecture as requirements change.

Built the way work happens

We operate as a distributed team across multiple geographies because we build for distributed environments. That alignment is intentional.

Where we're going

We are building a category, not just a product.

The major analyst frameworks describe elements of what 4Remote does across several existing categories. That reflects where the industry currently is, not where it is heading.

The distributed attack surface is a distinct security problem. It requires its own visibility model, its own risk framework, and its own remediation workflows. We believe this will be recognised as a defined security category, and we are building the platform that will define it.

"To become a global cybersecurity vendor defining a new layer of enterprise security."

Defined category

Distributed attack surface management will be recognised as its own security discipline. We are positioning 4Remote to define it.

Global reach

As the threat landscape continues to move outward, security practice must follow. Our ambition is global in scope from day one.

Enterprise-grade platform

A single operating environment that scales from individual users to enterprise deployments without compromise on capability or security.
